Hay Making

The local farmer has been hay making for the last three days. Most of the work has been undertaken in the evening until after dark. It is a three stage process - cutting, turning into lines and then collecting. This is the end of stage three, which was finished this morning in the last field that they did not manage to do yesterday evening. There are two tractors. One (hidden behind the near one and trailer) sucks the hay into a shoot that sends it into the trailer/waggon. You can see the top of the shoot and the hay falling. It is quite skilful driving to line up the machine collecting the line of hay and the two tractors and for them to travel at the right speed to collect the hay into the trailer. When a trailer is fall they swap to a third tractor and trailer, almost without pausing.
Another sunny day after a misty start, but with a fresh wind.
This morning we prepared bedrooms and beds for the grandchildren (it is a very long time since we had house guests) and this afternoon was spent potting on seedlings.
