New path

Those that read my blips will know we have let the largest part of our garden field grow without cutting this year. It has given Barry a break from the constant strimming required otherwise, but it has also drawn in masses of pollinators. Today he has cut a proper pathway down to the bottom and put in a little gateway into the bottom section. It's just a bendy chicken wire affair but does the job. Most of what we have been doing in the garden is temporary until we're really sure how we want it to be long term. I love the cut path and the grandchildren will have a super time out there following the paths when they visit next month! It will be like exploring the jungle for them, being so small.
I finished clearing out the spare bedroom. Washed and ironed the new duvets, ironed the new curtains and hung them. We won't have time to redecorate the room but it does now have some special things for them and toys under the bunks!
We had been forecast some rain but the day turned out to be really warm and sunny and the rain forecast has moved to Sunday and Monday. We are desperate for some wet stuff as the garden is parched and all the water butts have been empty for a week now! Barry has another huge butt which will be installed shortly but probably not in time for the weekend's hopeful downpour! I spent some time watering the most needy plants hoping the rest will survive until the rain comes! Without a hosepipe it took some time and effort! It also becomes costly when you're on a meter!
An up and down day for mum but fingers crossed BT will actually perform this coming week as promised for the umpteenth time!
