On the road again

Today’s trip was from Delan where our friend lives to Hervey Bay via Childers. We didn’t stop in Childers but it looked like a place to stop and wander if you had time.

The top pic is where we camped and the lower one is a mystery. We haven’t worked out what they were harvesting. We saw pineapples and sugar cane but this was a very low growing crop. 

Tonight we are in a small site in a lovely caravan park. It has all the usual facilities plus tennis court, heated pools, jumping castle and games room, TV room, climbing frame and walking distance to the beach. The people next door are from Hobart and know a friend of mine. Small world. 

This is the “ number 1 place to visit in Qld” and the “ whale watching capital of Australia” unfortunately it’s a bit early and they don’t start tours until next month but we might be lucky. The city is a group of old tourist towns that have just grown together. Very touristy by the look of it so far. 

Tomorrow we are going on an all day boat trip to Fraser Island. Stay tuned.
