Out in The Sticks

Today's been the day for getting double jabbed!

When we went for the first one I was nervous and excited but considerably more "Meh" this time. Having had the actual virus anyway is part of the reason, and knowing that we are still not back to being fully "free" despite just about 80% of adults now having had at least one shot.

The Delta Variant accounts for most of the new cases, and it's mostly younger people who won't have been vaccinated yet getting it. But they are mostly not becoming ill enough to go into hospital, and deaths are way down fortunately. They say signs are good that the vaccines are effective against the Delta Variant.

This virus is definitely not going away, but it is far from the threat that it once was. Some people will choose not to have the vaccine - their choice and they know the risks. At some point we have to allow life to get back to normal!

It seems now though, all the services the NHS scaled back to concentrate on Covid are heavily backlogged, compounded by people with other health worries who decided to wait before seeking medical advice, all leading to a new set of problems.

I would not be surprised if the Government don't use all this as an excuse to get it privatised, which is what they wanted to do all along! Probably by putting it into the hands of some of their clueless cronies once again... It won't end well. I hope I am very wrong...

I took this shot from the viewpoint near Scampton which, apparently is a notorious dogging spot! We did not see any untoward happenings but there were several cars there with people just sitting - maybe waiting  for us to clear off with our cameras!
