A view from Jeanneb

High tide

We’ve had a lazy day. It was our intention to stay around the house today but waking to heavy rain reinforced that. We’ve done well to be away a full week without any till now.

By late morning it had eased and we went over to Achiltibuie to the stores for supplies and to the community Artists now back in the Community centre having been a ‘pop up’ in someone’s house last year.

We got some nice smoked chicken for tea to make a kind of alternative Salad Nicoise. We could have ordered some hit smoked salmon but didn’t get on with it.
The lady at the artist centre was very friendly and when I mentioned I’d been into the ‘pop up’ shop last year with my daughter she remembered that Grace had bought the woven cushions.
There was lots of noise coming from the school across the road and she said they would be in high spirits as is was the last day of term.

A gradual improvement through the afternoon so we braved the walk down to the beach. Dry but very blowy. The tide was well in but has come in even further. This is my view from the house - there may be some marks or reflection from the window. This is very high water leading only a little of the beach and the river channel is very full right up to the head of the bay. It really is a lovely colour because of the pale sand. Don’t know how the little pink flowers will be doing and I hope there were no ground nesting birds on the normally dry beach head. The Snipe was back on the fence again when we returned from our shopping but I’m sure it’s nest is in the rough grass just beyond the fence.

Still a lot of cloud but those mountains are reappearing!

For some reason much better in large!
