Stage 2 Fire Restrictions

It rained hard last night for a few hours and then continued on and off all night.  When we got up, it was really chilly and PD was able to get a nice fire going in the soaked firepit.  We drank our coffee while we were getting warm until....the camphost came over and told us a fire ban was in place for Grand County starting at 6 AM.  It was 8:30 so we poured water on it.  Later, the ranger came through and put up signs and orange tape on all the pits in the campground.  It will likely remain in place all summer due to high temperatures, wind and dry conditions.

Ironically, it continued to rain on and off all day.  It's not enough to make a real difference, but hopefully it helped contain the fire burning about 60 miles southwest of here.

I am grateful for the big windows in our camper and the view of the lake that make staying inside a lot more pleasant. :-)

Thank you to everyone for your visits and stars and hearts.  I really appreciate all of them! xx
