Bribie Island Bridge

We crossed this bridge a few times today. Our caravan park is across the water ( near the Ferris wheel which was erected for a rodeo here yesterday) and my older Brother in Law lives this side of the bridge.

We gathered at my youngest Brother-in-law law’s place nearby for lunch and some of the younger generation came ( 22 of us). Some had new partners whom we hadn’t met before, two new babies and some I haven’t seen since they were children. It was quite strange meeting relatives and trying to work out who was who. I know all the names but sometimes it took a bit of work remembering.

Covid has suddenly taken off here in Australia which has caused changes in our plans. The three of us here with our vans are onto plan D and we are trying to work out if we will just go home. Today was lovely all getting together and we all hope we are free of the virus. 2 didn’t come at the last minute as they were feeling a bit sick. 4 from Sydney didn’t come at all. The sooner we all get vaccinated the better. The oldies have all had one dose but none of the younger ones have been able to access it yet.

We had a great day looking at old photos and remembering funny things from the past. We think we can work out 4 times the gang has all been together including their mother’s funeral, Lisa’s wedding, Peter’s wedding and one other event. Not much in the 47 years I’ve known them. We are now planning something for next year.

Report from the dinner last night….the resort held a rodeo and there was an after rodeo party. The average age of the people was 50 years younger than me. They young ones wore crazy short shorts, brightly coloured hair, high heel cowboy boots and cowboy hats. They looked a riot.
