Colonsay.2

The island of Oronsay is a degree more remote than Colonsay, as to get to it you have to walk a kilometre across the sands of "The Strand" during the hours around low tide. Today the water was at most 20cm deep, and only for 100m, which was enough to be fun for us all. We then rediscovered the charming Shell Cottage (see extras) and the ruined 14th Century priory. On the way back, I took a detour to climb the mighty Beinn Oronsay (93m) from which there was a fine view of the maze of islets and sand banks between the islands. This ascent also means that I've climbed all of the 22 MacPhies. They may be tiny (92-143m) but there's some very rough terrain between them!
