A matter of timing

We have spent much of today in the New Forest. The area of the Forest we know least is that north of the “big road”, the A35, that cuts across it. So that’s where we went.

A grey and rainy day, but we enjoyed our short walks in three separate locations. And we spent time watching birds I have never seen before - woodlarks. If the had not been calling so insistently, we would have passed them by. In the extras - an archetypical New Forest scene.

In the evening I had a photographic trip out (it was grey and uninviting, so J preferred “home comforts”). I went to Friars Cliff/Steamer Point and walked along the beach/promenade. As can be seen here, it was remarkably quiet for a July evening. Finding a bit of beach solitude is all a matter of timing (and weather).
