A non-regular visitor

For the first time this week I was able to leave work just early enough to get back to Fidelis in time for a run before the light faded too much. Witout knowing what the tide would be like, I set out to get down to Southend. Only I was distracted by the unmistakable sound of a kereru flying from one branch to another in one of our big trees on the road side of the house. Two were there.

That was a relief. A few days ago after S had seen a pair of Kereru flying between ours and her mother's house (now her brother's), I heard a great bang on a window. Sounded just like a kereru flying into a window. Looked everywhere without seeing anything. Hoped that meant it was not injured. Seeing the pair again this evening, suggests that no serious injury was incurred.
