Hetty the speeding lurcher

Our lovely lurcher Betty reached the end of her life late last summer, and neither Richard nor I have felt ready to contemplate bringing another dog into the household as yet.
In this context, it's a real pleasure to get out for a walk, from time to time, with lovely Hetty and her owner Patricia. P and I are old friends from the mid -1970s, so we are well into a routine of periodic get-togethers and long companionable chats.
That wasn't quite the whole picture today though. Hetty came to Patricia as a rescue dog, when still young. Soon it became apparent that all was not well; Hetty is unlucky enough to have a kidney disorder and her life expectancy is correspondingly much shorter than it would be otherwise.  So one thing we both wanted to do, today, was to set up a few opportunities for photos of Hetty, while she's still in reasonably good health. Here she is, full of joy - lurchers do love a good leg stretch in an open field.
