POPPY HEAD

Last night, after going round sanitising the place, simply because workers' had been in the house.  Sanitising is all I had to do because they had cleaned up all the mess and to be honest, apart from an odd little scratch and a couple of small newly plastered areas outside you'd never known anyone had been in -they cleaned it all up and miniscule damages.  Amazing.

We then tried to get some things ready for today, like clearing the lounge and the little porch area.  This is when hubby suddenly realised that our burglar alarm just can't be switched off and everything he did he sent the system blaring out at us eeeeekkkkk!!

I did some research and found that we can turn off areas but the front door is what is known as "tamper" and you can't switch it off without degmanetising the battery and separating the heads another eeeekkkk. So 8.30 last night hubby called the alarm people.  They said they could do nothing tonight obviously but that they would called at 7.45 tomorrow (now today) morning and get Connor to call round first thing.

Well true to their word, 7.45 precisely Connor phoned and said he would be here in about 10 minutes - phew.  So by 8.05 the alarm has been deactivated temporarily and once everything is finished door-wise they  would be back to reactivate.  This is not a problem because since Covid there is always somebody in the house anyway.

The workers turned up at 9.30 this morning and have been working solid ever since, just a break for some lunch.  It is looking brilliant - very messy right now but brilliant.  The front door is gorgeous, has a hint of art deco about it, which I love.

Then went round finding something to blip and I though this beautiful poppy had was gorgeous so  have used that today's blip.

It does feel strange with workmen in the house, I'm in our bedroom, hubby is in the 3rd bedroom cum study cum junk room and G is in his room.  We sat in one room to have lunch together though.

Hubby has had his shingles jab today, an invitation he received via our surgery just last week because he is over 70.  Before they did it he checked that it wouldn't stop him from having a pint (or three) with his mates tonight - and it won't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like it's all going to be finished by the end of the day so yeah to that.

See you all tomorrow.  Thanks for all your lovely messages, stars and hearts - love them all.  Do continue protecting yourselves and staying safe.
