Heath Spotted Orchid

A walk round the University loch today. The cygnets are growing fast and what a lot there are. The thing that really caught my eye though was the uncut grass. The flowers growing in it are lovely - yarrow, water forget-me-nots, buttercups, thistles, red campion, loosestrife, mallows and so many orchids. They are starting to go to seed now and so is the grass. It looks like high summer and I suppose it is.

Another really beautiful day. The temperature is in the mid 20s but the breeze moderates it. We've been so fortunate.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
