An ordinary life....

Uploaded this blip again against the correct date (I blipped so late it put it against 18th July)  Apologies to my blip pals who's comments have now been deleted as a result.

Awoke to another lovely morning.

Ele and David headed off to the moor with Lola and returned in time for brunch, again sitting in the garden in the wonderful sunshine.

After that was cleared away Ele and I started prepping the salad, fruit and meat dishes for the BBQ later in anticipation of the rest of the gang arriving (niece Jennifer, nephew Andrew, his partner Nikki and their little girl Esme) and David and Kenny went to the back garden to build the hammock I bought for D earlier in the year.   OMG!  It was every bit as hilarious as I thought it would be!

Ele and I couldn't have timed our arrival in the garden any better.  They had just finished assembling the hammock and D was about to have his first attempt to get in it.  The lady in the instruction video made it look SO easy!  You can see the result in my blip!  :-)))

Thankfully they had secured it at it's lowest setting so any fall out was a short one!  Hahahahaha...just as well.  I'm annoyed the quality of the shots are so poor but you get the gist.  The funniest thing about them is not D's spectacular inelegance, but Kenny's face in each of the pics.  The whole story told in facial expression alone!  lol

Thankfully his second attempt was much more successful as got to grips with the technique in the instructional video.  He then got brave and the hammock height was raised and he managed to get in and out without any further mishap.  At that point the rest of the gang arrived so the hammock was abandoned.

The rest of the day passed in a blur of fun.  Games in the garden, fun in the pool for Esme (and her mum and dad) then BBQ dinner.  Esme also played on the swing that David installed earlier today, but she was exhausted by that point and was happy to sway gently so no pushing required.

We continued to sit in the garden then retired inside when the temperature dropped a little.

Ele and Kenny were staying another night so when the rest left, we settled down with a night cap and ended up watching A Good Day to Die Hard.  Dearie me.  What a pile of pish implausible nonsense but at least we didn't have to waste any brain power following a plot.  Every cloud.

Pics of the delight that is Esme in extra :-))
