I had quite an active day, and in some ways quite positive.

The highlights included a long talk on the phone with my friend from schooldays; Junior and the Last Wife turning up at my front door begging to use my toilets; a biryani for lunch bought at a local street stall; a glass of wine and a bowl of crisps sitting in the garden at 5pm.

It was all a bit shallow after hearing last night that someone I used to work with died of Covid 19 yesterday. He was my age. He had been vaccinated. We were not friends or close colleagues, but did bring home to me the fate which awaits any of us quite randomly.
