A Day Worth Recording

Friday, and a day 'on holiday' with a plan to catch up with all the home jobs that have been deferred by the decorating. Naturally, this meant more decorating, but also clearing the study so that I can set up the new PC.

Shifting the bookcase exposed the long disused ethernet cable between the upstairs and downstairs computers in those hazy days when the network only involved two computers, 'internet' involved warbling down a phone line, and routers were the size of a small wardrobe. As for 'wireless'? ha! that still involved valves.

Didn't actually achieve much, PC-wise, other than mount the monitor to the wall.

Murphy, he say, "A new monitor will be 4mm too tall to fit the existing space..."

Sigh. Hammer drill. Rawlplug. Filler.

"...and the shelf 1 inch too short to home the stuff off the bookcase."

Ha. Got you there! Movable shelves!
