Day 8

It’s a blustery day here at ground level. We’re outside of the AOG Stadium where the Opening Ceremonies were held just one week ago. It’s hard to believe we’ve hit the midway mark of these 2021 Games, but it only means we have another full week of exciting competitions to look forward to • Let’s check in right now with the 4-member Team of Eastern Yellow Jacket. The “Nectar Collection” competition is already underway. Let’s watch these wasps do what they do best - work! They will spend the next few hours coming and going from this underground cavern that was excavated specifically for this competition. The nectar they collect must be deposited into the Royal Queen’s Container located deeper into the cavern. Any drips or spills will not be counted, only precise deposits are allowed. At the end of each team’s allotted time period, their nectar will be weighed and recorded • Look, there’s a Worker emerging and heading out for his next sortie.
