Day 9

If you’re just joining us, tragedy struck only moments ago at this Semi-final Ant Pairs Competition! Let me bring you up to date • Team A is brother and sister, Arnie and Annette, and they are competing against Team B, Brody and Bea, husband and wife. The teams reached the milkweed platform within seconds of one another and began consuming the aphid excrement, as required. That’s when it happened! • Arnie suddenly stopped, looked at Annette, then fell backwards over the edge of the milkweed! He fell more than four feet to the hard packed ground below. The competition was immediately halted by the three Aphid Judges, and his pitiful curled up body was removed by stretcher • Despite this horrific accident Annette has decided to continue on, saying it’s what Arnie would want her to do. You have to admire her commitment and dedication to family and craft • Please stay with us, folks, and we’ll pass along any updates on Arnie’s condition.
