Women photographers in Barcelona

Several highlights today. The biggest was obviously a wonderful long outdoor lunch with Bb and Dd, which necessitated quite a long siesta to get over it (and then a swim to get over the siesta).

But in terms of photographic interest, it was also the fascinating exhibition of photographs by women photographers of Barcelona (of the 20th century). Not only are the photographs themselves outstanding (and the presentation very attractive, although there have been a few idiots out tagging a few of the photographic panels), but I also learned quite a bit about the history of 20th century Barcelona through the eyes of these women and through the narratives presented. I've put another view of the exhibition in the extras, not least as it reminds me a little bit of a currently famous meme.

It was also fascinating to see the 'new' Barcelona through the eyes of Bb and Dd, who have extended their 'barrio' to include the fascinating area of Sants during their long lockdown wanders. Those wanders have included finding quite a number of new places to eat, drink and sit awhile, including the lovely unspoilt restaurant on a quiet street, where we were happy to sit for a couple of hours, especially since by then the weather was by no means too hot (it was even less hot a couple of hours later when I made it to the rooftop pool; in fact, it looks as if it might even rain later).

Anyway, we're pretty much done, because we couldn't face the 40 minute walk back to the hotel, so awarded ourselves the privilege of a quick taxi ride.
