Glen Grant Victorian Gardens

Another early departure for us.  Thankfully most of the packing was done last night, so mostly just sorting out the kitchen this morning.  It appeared to be a lovely morning, but just before 9am when we were due to leave our Portmahomack cottage, the drizzle started. We drove through various kinds of rain on our way to Glen Grant Distillery.  Yes, another day, another distillery.  TT had been told this one was a good one to visit as it has nice gardens.  The rain had just gone off when we got there, so we headed for the garden walk.  The Victorian Gardens have been restored in more recent times and we had a really lovely walk, which ended up back at the visitor centre and café where we enjoyed a peaceful cuppa in the sunshine before another bottle of whisky was purchased and we continued on our journey down the road.
We stopped in Blair Atholl for a late lunch at the Water Mill and had a wander in the sunshine to stretch our legs, before hitting the road again.  We eventually got home to be met by our neighbour who has been watering and looking after TT’s tomatoes.  Then there was the unpacking and a bit of immediate garden tidying required.  Fish and chips seemed like the best option for tea –and it went down very well. Later I  finished reading The Midnight Library, which was a good easy read.
We are all weary, but have had a lovely holiday.  Tomorrow there will be more unpacking, washing and tidying and I need to make a start on my back blipping.
You can just see BB and TT in the upper part of  the Victorian distillery garden.
