The Fallen Rocks

My alarm went off at 03:45.  We left the house at 04:25.  We were on our way for the 07:00 ferry to arran.  I was awake for the whole journey, but can’t tell you much about it.  Thank goodness TT was driving.  I do remember we took a different route through Glasgow and then went on the Dalry bypass which is new to us.  We made the ferry in good time.  Parked the car up and left it, as we were foot passengers.  We only booked this week and there was no way we could take the car, and in fact very few opportunities to go as foot passengers, hence the early start.
The crossing was very calm and peaceful.  Once BB and TT had had breakfast, we spent the rest of the voyage outside as we approached a cloud covered island.
Our friend L  picked us up and drove us back to the house they are staying in – our home for the next few days.  We got there just in time for breakfast which was perfect – although BB and TT had no more than tea and toast.
Once we had settled in and done some squirrel watching, we three headed out for a walk to the Fallen Rocks .  The sun was breaking though and the weather just improved the whole time we were walking.  It was glorious and most unexpected as the forecast was not good.  We walked back and met up with our friends at the Golf Club and had some lunch, before spending the rest of the afternoon pottering at home.  R and I started a jigsaw which she had bought for the holiday.  It was the same jigsaw I got for my birthday of the London Underground map.  What a coincidence.
Our next adventure was to get the bus and go all the way to Blackwaterfoot for dinner – a great journey, though my bones felt very shaken up by the time we got there.  The setting, the food and the company were fabulous.  We got a taxi home and enjoyed a wee nightcap before we had to go to bed.  It has been a very long day, and we have packed alot in!!
This is a view across to the mainland from the Fallen Rocks.
