Red Squirrel

I slept late today, probably to catch up on my lost sleep.  We had a leisurely breakfast and watched the squirrels breakfasting.  It looked like it was going to be a nice morning.  However R and I got stuck into the jigsaw.  We’re not terribly sure what everyone else was up to as we were so engrossed.  Late morning a plan was hatched.  TT and L were booked on a whisky tasting at the Lochranza Distillery so we all headed up to Lochranza to get some lunch before they went to the Distillery.  Having left a lovely day behind, we encountered rain – heavy rain.   We got our takeaway sandwiches from the excellent Sandwich Station and ate them in the rain.  It looked like it was brightening up so R, C, BB and me all decided to go for a walk and to then pick up the car from the distillery.  What a mistake.  We had hardly gone any distance when the rain came on and it was torrential.  We were soaked through, but kept walking.  At least we were out and getting some fresh air!!  We did pick up the car and headed back  and it was bone dry at the house.  No rain had fallen while we were away – a distance of around 6.5 miles.  We all had to strip off and dry off, then R and I headed into Brodick for provisions, before going back to Lochranza for the boys.  By this time it was raining everywhere.  They declared that the tasting was the best they have ever been to.
Once he had recovered from the tasting, L cooked us a lovely meal, then R and I got stuck into the jigsaw again.  It’s addictive.
Here is a breakfasting red squirrel. The extra is at the distillery.
