Stranded on South Uist

The bad news is that this ferry will not be leaving its position here at Lochboisdale until Saturday morning at the earliest. The good news is that our hotel to the left of the picture is very accommodating to stranded ferry passengers.

We're making the best of a bad situation while Paddy and Caitlin wait for us to join them in Arisaig. This morning we went for a very blustery walk, hunting for otters. We didn't spot any, but we still enjoyed sunbathing on a rock by the loch and watching the birds overhead, including some pretty siskin.

We spent the rest of the day indoors playing Scrabble (8 wins apiece now), watching downloaded television, updating family and friends on our fate, and chatting to other hotel guests. The one worry that we don't share with many others is rebooking a vehicle onto a future ferry. There will always be room for our bikes, so long as the service is running.

Exercise today: small amount of walking (7111 steps).
