Taking care of her pony.....

I spent the day today, at the Kentucky Horse Park.  Land has been developed from a horse farm that went out of business.    The state of Kentucky bought the land and has developed a world class complex.  There are hundreds and hundreds of acres for pasture.    There are also one 25 barns for show horses to be housed while participating in the many shows held there.   Another 25 on the planning table.   Indoor rings, outdoor rings,  practice areas, parking areas  concession stands, and maintance buildings.
The complex has also developed many museums around the horse and how the animal has affected the development of man, been a companion, a worker,  entertainment.   the racing industry, the pioneers going west, the discovery of the world from China to Arabia, to cowboys, explores, war horses, fire wagons, pleasure animals, helping the Indians hunt buffalo, the Romans having chariot races.    It seems mans fate has been inexplicably entwine with the horse.
Extra I4:  The old fashioned way Kentucky farmers collected water to use for drinikng crops, all livestock, families.......
Todays Blip a rider leaving the barn area and heading to the show rings.

Extra 2:  One of the many buildings at the Park is used in the care of horses.  This one happens to be washing racks.   After hard work, in the heat, the animals are treated to a bath and cleaning

Extra 3:  John Henry, a very famous racing horse that ran , for the times, faster than all.    His progeny  have left a very strong influence on the many great race horses over the years.
Extra  4:    The end of a long day of showing and performing.  The young Pony Club rider is out walking the stiffness out, relaxing, and allowing her hard working steed to graze and eat some grass.   How much better could it get....
