Half Price

The car was returned earlier than expected yesterday so we had time for a quick trip to Witney to find a replacement light fitting for the grandsons bedroom. I think we found something suitable, but even better than that we picked up a half price hanging basket, just in time for Flower Friday. We also got some mixed plants to go in the two tubs we have at the front of the house. So we are respectably flowery again, first time for a year as we didn't bother last year, and nearly this year too.

To balance things a bit I did some major hacking of the buddleia in the back garden. I love it for the butterflies it attracts, but it gets so sprawly and messy. It was planted too close to a small tree and tends to win the battle for territory if I don't get involved.

We made some major progress on the house sale, we finally got the enquiries back from the searches. Amongst other queries we had to say whether the house was ever used for the manufacture storage sale distribution or supply of intoxicating liquors of any kind whatsoever.  We did find a few bottles of wine secreted away in unexpected places (in the pyjama drawer for instance) when we cleared the house, but I don't think they mean that so we said no.

In other news we had a call from the bunk bed people! They are coming next week to replace the batten broken by the screws. If we didn't need it for the following week when the grandsons should be coming I would have sent it back by now. I'm going to write a storming review when this is over.
