Katie

An adventure at Talyllyn Lake.    (See extra pic for the grandeur above the water.)

Katie's got the bug for open water swimming recently and decided to fundraise by swimming the length of the lake!   After consideration of the marshes at the far end, it was decided that she'd swim widths,  five would be the equivalent distance.   The trouble with that is that  start and finish would then be on opposite sides of the lake .... so she swam six widths!   Here she is approaching the half way point.   Jamie in his wheelchair was able to roll back fast enough after leg five to be on the shore as she finished.  Great fun, funds raised and a remarkable feat given that Katie has CP.   She's a superstar!

Jamie invited her round to ours this evening and prepared Roasted Red Pepper and Tomato soup for us all using fresh ingredients from Tywyn Foods, an independent supplier on our high street.   Delicious!

My busy weekend has already kicked off as the Beer and Gin Festival at Wharf station is getting into swing as I type.   Two more days to go with live music tomorrow evening, hoping the weather forecast continues to improve.   Lots of people around means lots of cleaning up and I'm in the cafe quite a bit too.   Must make sure to get enough Z's tonight, especially after hearing a report that our metabolism goes into decline when we reach sixty :-/
