Megan’s office

Another sunny day. We sit at the kitchen table until I feel the urge to get moving. The advice is to head back to Dingwall and then up the A9 to Scrabster.

I stop in Dingwall (for snacks and fuel) and Golspie (for a rest - and to sort out the car). I’m one of the first in the ferry queue, so I wander the port, call Megan, decide not to visit any of the hostelries that are now open.

It’s a short, great journey to Stromness. I plug in to some downloaded radio shows, cover my eyes, and doze. Drive off the ferry and up to Megs’ where she has tofu and pasta waiting.

We chat for a while and then it’s time to sleep. I extract my mat and sleeping bag from the car, make a space on the living room floor. Sleep.
