Behind the lounger 2

Another morning of haar which allowed me to drive to the pool.

Then following the Vaccine bus down the road, to the dentist which took hardly any time bit I'll be back at the end of September. Could only get Mum added to a waiting list. No check up appointment slots this year. Of course if you go private there is no wait and you can sit in waiting room rather than lurk outside till your time. The NHS dentists still temperature check too, though why isn't clear.

I decided not to buy new tyres given Monday's trip west will be on a bus, or a train. They can be next month's expensive purchase..

Did some College admin at home with a v positive progress report on the Nursery. Then worked on FVA Board minutes and began a plan for work in the hope that Monday's news requires it. If not a wind up plan will be required.

The sun having broken through late morning, finally, after a v brief College meeting, I was free to repair to the garden with a book, first the back and then , after 6, the front. The sun is moving round but it was after 8 before the hint of a chill in the air meant I had to come in. Some of the white anemones are being exchanged for pink ones when A comes back down from Inverurie next month. And some are being binned. They do spread so.

Watched more 'Plan Coeur' and then when I quit Netflix the TV defaulted to 'The Nine' and there was my friend ex Sheriff Mackie talking about Children's Hearings. That was a surprise, especially as I'd missed the announcement of his new role. Weird to see someone you know on the telly. He looked uncomfortable squished on to a BBC sofa with not enough room for his legs.

That necessitated a catch up with the other ex Sheriff Mackie and then it was bed.

Inamongst PCR tests. L, from work, her son is positive but she is negative so I don't need to get involved. My friend's daughter E is getting tested because she was with friends at weekend who tested negative after being pinged but one of the dads (with whom E has had no contact) tested positive. Isn't that overkill since there doesn't appear to be a chain of transmission, or am I missing something? I will stay well out of the group chat on this.

The news from Kabul is getting predictably grimmer
Middle of the night conversation with #1 son about this and the associated geo politics. But it's people and it's heart rending.
