Modern deliveries

Which would you rather have? Freddie’s Flowers who send a cycle courier, perhaps as an endeavour to offset the terrible carbon footprint of most cut flowers these days, or Hermes, who brought our zero-miles Scottish gin this month and left it downstairs by the postboxes for anyone to help themselves to, and failed to notify us that it was there? (Luckily we noticed that the status was updated to “delivered”, and went in a successful search for the missing bottle). The Hermes courier had shoved a card into the side of the parcel: “sorry you were out”. No we bloody weren’t. Thankfully we didn’t lose our gin, or otherwise there would have been a substantial outbreak of toy throwing.

Anyway, I had a very busy and rather long day, with several online meetings and an online “knowledge exchange” event involving the Royal Society of Edinburgh, plus time for reading various things that needed my prompt attention. I also managed a walk to Milk for a snack and a change of scene, and finally some spinning before dinner.
