Silly Saturday ...

... walk in the park ... plus.

As it was supposed to rain today we decided not to do our normal Saturday run to Juniperdale Farms and Jacobsburg State Park.

Instead we got our weekend supply of corn on the cob from a more local garden center.  Then we took a short walk at Louise Moore Park.  The bottom right picture shows some intrepid picnic-ers!  I guess when you rent the pavilions you take a chance on the weather!  Luckily for them the rain never really happened.

When we got home we found that four ... yes four! ... monarch butterflies had emerged in our butterfly nursery.  I have included pictures of one male (bottom left) and one female but we had two of each gender emerge today.  And then later on the beautiful Eastern Black Swallowtail also emerged from the swallowtail nursery!!  That's five butterflies in one day!  And there are more to come.

The upper right picture is of both Cheddar (on left) and Kiera (on right) snuggled together in one of their boxes!  We have never seen them sleeping together in this box before ... they usually take turns sitting in it! How cute are they?!?
