sloes

Everything is ripening and fruiting in abundance! On my walk today, I noticed a huge number of sloes..we are supposed to leave them on the bush until after the first frosts, so will not be picking them for a while yet, I hope. Everywhere there are signs of autumn beginning, though...the swallows are getting very noisy and the young ones practising their flying in preparation for the long journey ahead..

It was my last day in the cafe today for a while and we were super-busy. Had to turn away customers at the door as all the tables were full :-) What a shame that it was just a little too chilly for most people to sit outside.

D is cooking tea tonight and its almost ready so I must go!
