Mixed seasons

Glorious late summer weather again today, we were out quite early as the mist lifted to walk in the St Ives Estate and collect blackberries, a sign of a different season.
The mist cleared quite quickly but the grass remained very wet with heavy dew. The skies as we headed to the woods were beautiful.
We easily collected three tubs of berries but having opted to wear cropped walking trousers I managed to nettle both legs and get lots of scratches on my hands from the brambles.

Continued our walk through the lower woods and then headed to The Ivy for a coffee.

Back home I soon had the blackberries picked over and in the freezer on trays so that they froze separately.

Enjoyed a bit of time in the garden before taking a bag of jigsaws up to Wendle’s 56 and then met friends in the pub at 4.00 pm for a couple of drinks. So nice to sit outside in the early evening. Thunder is threatened in the forecast so this could be the last day of summer.
