Ashwell View

After yesterday's scene of devastation I've tried to redeem myself with what must be a quintessential view of rural Britain.

I didn't hear any thunder last night but I did hear the rain lashing down. It rained much of the morning too but there were some clear spells. After lunch I decided to go out on my bike and risk a soaking. I didn't do a long ride, just six miles or so and made a couple of stops for photos. I was within half a mile of home when I saw the scene I've blipped. With the rain gone there was little haze so it was a lovely clear view up to the moor. On the horizon you can see Rippon Tor, Saddle Tor and Hay Tor shining in a little sunshine.
