We went out today for our anniversary lunch. The anniversary itself isn't until Tuesday but today suited us better. We left a bit early intending to have a short walk before lunch and it was a good job that we did because the traffic on the way up to Exeter was awful and after we got off the motorway it was a slow crawl round the interchange to get onto the Exmouth road. We got there with about 10 minutes to spare.

Winslade Manor is a Georgian maybe Regency building which is gradually being surrounded by modern offices. It was decorated beautifully and imaginatively and we had a good meal. It was probably the only place I've been to recently that didn't seem short staffed. The only thing that let it down was something about the ambience. Might have been that there seemed to be a lot of business lunches going on - who knows?

My blip is a shot from where we were in the bar choosing from the menu. There are two glasses on the table but one's out of shot.

The village festival is on this week and  tomorrow afternoon our little three piece band, Schmooze,  will be playing. I'm looking forward to that.
