I Wouldn't Call This Courtship ...

...  it's sexual coercion or what we humans would call rape. The males chase the females relentlessly until they begin to tire and then they grab them by the back of the neck with their special claspers. Some species of Odonata play dead to escape the attention of the males. Eventually the female will curl her abdomen up to form the mating wheel. I've never photographed a conjoined pair of willow emerald damselflies before so I had to blip this.
