Back to ..

the Kennet and Avon canal, some of which we walked in Bradford on Avon a few weeks ago.

It was two steps forward and two steps back with my stomach as I was awake at 2.00 am with indigestion!  I’m ok but really don’t want to eat much non the less we managed  to walk of over 4.5 miles this morning.

After a few chores we set out early as it sounded as though it might cloud over this after noon. It hasn’t and seems to have got hotter as the day has progressed.

We headed to the badger sets just up Bailbrook Lane but couldn’t quite find them. We asked a lady dog walker and she said it was very over grown and her dog wouldn’t even go down there! We did manage it and then came back out of the woods into Bailbrook Lane further on.

We continued to the end of the Lane and crossed the busy London Road to take a path down to the Toll bridge over the R Avon at Bathampton Mill. Long queues of traffic to cross this single file bridge and pay their £1 toll, amazing, luckily we didn’t have to pay. Had a wander round the pretty village of Bathhamptin with many 17th century buildings and found a take away coffee to have sitting on the side of the Kennet and Avon canal at the spot you can see in the blip compilation.

We walked a while along the canal back in the direction of Bath and then back across the Avon near the Bath Rugby practise ground to return to Larkhall. Bought something forlunch from the deli, but in the end didn’t eat it, before climbing back up the hill to Bailbrook.
A lovely walk which we might try again the other way around.

Spent the late afternoon making up a gluten free, vegetarian Moussaka. It’s in the oven and looks very nice but nit sure I will eat much of it sadly.
