Party time!

We have had a glorious sunny day for Eda’s birthday party, so lucky as it was exactly the same last year.

Also as last year we had Jen the face painter, a friend of Grace’s and a fellow thespian. She is performing in Elf at the Hippodrome in Bristol later this year and it is already a virtual sell out. You can see some of the girls queuing for their faces painting with Eda first of course as it was her party.

We had the balloon man from Alice Park in Larkhall making the children the balloons they wanted; wands, animals, swords etc
He seemed to hold them in thrall with his banter and he brought lots of dressing up items too which went down well together with Eda’s own dressing up box items

The finale of a party is always the cake. This year Eda wanted a rainbow cake and that together with rainbow cup cakes had mummy and daddy up till well after midnight last night.
You can see a picture of it from the front when John brought it out onto the terrace in the extra collage. It hit the bill perfectly.

Perfect timing too when everybody left as there were some ominous looking clouds appearing in the direction of Batheaston but it didn’t materialise into anything.

We went inside and both girls enjoyed opening their presents.  Jude scooted up and down living on her new scooter from the Bristol ‘Mumday’ ladies, so nice to catch up with them all again and see how all the younger children are growing.
Eda had some great things from her friends, some from her Bristol days and newer friends from pre school, her new school and the neighbourhood but she has saved some family presents for her actual birthday which is next Wednesday when she will be 5!

Think we’re all pretty tired now, it was fabulous but it’s a good job it’s only once a year!
