Festival time …

…in Bath.

Chris and I walked into Bath this morning. It started rather grey and misty after rain last night but it was soon bright and sunny.
We stopped at Landrace on Walcot St and this time the cafe was open (closed when I called on Tuesday) and we enjoyed coffee and I had a cardamon bun whilst Chris had a sausage roll. Of course we both had to visit the toilets! Featured on Silly Saturday  at the beginning of the month.

Once in the centre of town there was quite a festive feel. There were food and drink stalls along some of the streets. Apparently there is a Literary Festival starting next week  - Bath Chikdren’s Literature Festval - as well as a food festival known as The Great Bath Feast celebrating the best food and drink of the SW and beyond, centred around Milsom Street
Eda is going to be taken to an event for the Literature Festival with her class next Friday.

I particularly liked the Aperol Spritz van but though tempted I didn’t indulge. The Land Rover next to it offered us a beer sample but we said it was too early, we’re very boring!

We had a list of things to get for Grace. This included a visit to M & S for gf croissants for Eda and a single mattress protector. All out of single size due to the recent influx of students I was told! I’d seen someone with a Primark bag but had no idea where it was, well, it is hidden behind this colonnaded  façade right opposite the Roman Baths and Pump Room. I’m well impressed.  Don’t often visit Primark these days but got a single mattress protector for £5. So what’s with students who go to M & S instead of Primark!

The pianist was playing all his own compositions and was very good.

Mission accomplished we got the bus back along London Road and walked up through the grounds of Bailbrook House arriving at exactly the same time as John and Eda.
We entertained Eda for the afternoon whilst John went back to work and when Grace arrived home we all went down to Alice Park before Grace went off to collect Jude.
Went to the cafe of course and whilst Eda had a milk pop Grace and I had a Prosecco. Well it is the weekend and one that we might need a bit of fortification for!

Have a good weekend everybody.
