Last Day of Summer?

The forecasters have warned us that this is the last balmy day we will have before autumn temperatures arrive tomorrow. My phone weather app denotes rain for every day next week. Oh joy manifold! There was lovely blue sky over the Meadows coffee stall when I perambulated at lunch time. It looks positively Mediterranean.

We can’t complain about the change to come in the weather since the weather in September has been amazingly benign. If only we didn’t have rising Covid numbers, rising energy prices, madness at the petroleum pumps , empty supermarket shelves and global warming, life would be a peach.

I was hoping that Scotland would have managed to organise our Covid booster jabs to fall around the 6 month interval from the 2nd jab but not a word from on high other than a message from my doctor’s surgery telling me not to come anywhere near it for a booster or a flu jab.
Some people have been given appointments for the seasonal flu jab at centres outwith Edinburgh at ridiculous times. How very elderly people without cars are expected to get there at all is anyone’s guess.

There now, that’s the current rant from this post holidaymaker. It can only get better, can’t it?
