Barnsley bound

For the second time this week, I was up with the lark or to be more precise, up in the dark (before 6am), and hitting the road for a client meeting.

The weather has been absolutely awful, so the early morning start (to allow for the traffic around Manchester), combined with the rain and subsequent spray made for pretty damn awful driving conditions, which may have even featured some aquaplaning.

Made it there though and met a colleague who I hadn’t seen since prior to the pandemic, so it was good to catch up in person, despite the fact that we talk most days. We were then onto our meeting which lasted three hours, but it was one of those really good ones where the thing you actually need to talk about takes 15 minutes. It was a first visit for me, so a good opportunity to make a positive first impression and start building some rapport.

The journey home was even worse than the one there, so by the time I stepped in, I was absolutely shattered and not feeling great, so laid down on the sofa and had a power nap, which set me up nicely for a couple of glasses of wine and a chat in good company and surroundings.

The photo is pretty uninspired but does show the river at the widest I’ve seen it for a long while, which is a good thing.

Pleased to be having an “admin” day at the desk tomorrow!
