Nuthatch

A much better day. We both spent at least 3 hours in the garden this morning pulling up annuals, emptying pots, composting, sowing a few seeds and filling up the green bin. A good start, but there is still more to do.
After lunch we took a short drive to Risley to see if we could find the woodpeckers. We did see the female a couple of times, but only high up in the tops of the trees.
Not so many birds around, especially as the fence around the hide area had been damaged last year and has still not been repaired which allows dogs (which should be on a lead or under very close control) to roam around the feeders and scare off all the wildlife. We were not impressed when this happened 4 times within an hour, twice with owners straying in amongst the feeding area calling loudly for their dog, seemingly oblivious to the fact that people were trying to watch the wildlife and that they should not be there. Quite irritating actually.
The light faded quite quickly so we came home with very few shots to choose a blip from. This is a slightly less traditional pose for a nuthatch, but was the best of a bad lot.
