Mono Monday - Invention

In 1714, Daniel Gabriel Fahrenheit invented the first mercury thermometer, the founder of modern day mercury in glass thermometers.   He also introduced the temperature scale that bears his name.  With a name like that, he was bound to greatness.  He was born in Danzig and at the age of 15,  moved to the Dutch Republic where he spent the rest of his life.   He was a physicist, inventor and scientific instrument maker.

This is my thermometer, barometer and hygrometer which hangs in the entrance to my house.   As you can see, it was 26C inside or should I say 79F seeing as we are talking about Fahrenheit.
