Jersey conkers

An unseasonably warm day today.

These conkers from the horse chestnut tree tell us that it really is autumn though. I collected them on our walk back from La Corbiere on Monday from trees overhanging the broad railway track.

J was collecting them for her grandson and we were adding to them but we ended up with too many so I brought some home myself to replace those still lurking in the corners from last year. I love them at this stage when they are still plump and shiny. They are in a lovely little bowl bought in the highlands in June from a potter in Glen Canisp.

Early walk at 7.15am and then community singing this afternoon as we missed our usual session on Monday. A last run through of the songs for the Steam Punk event where we are singing on Saturday in Haworth.
A meeting this evening to determine the fate of our village players.
A varied and interesting day.

This is a link to my Flickr Album of our recent Jersey trip. It goes to page two for those interested in the Occupation Tapestries.
