A Day In The Life

Happy Indigenous Peoples Day to all of my US friends • Today’s weather was terrific! After a foggy start the sun broke through and temps warmed up nicely to 70F. The sunshine really highlighted all of the surrounding foliage which grows brighter by the day. This is likely our peak week here in central Maine • We drove over to our favorite little pond to explore the water and trees for any critters. That’s my term for anything breathing, no matter the size, with wings, legs or fins! • The air was filled with birdsong and we were pleased to spot this male cardinal plus a black-throated sparrow. Unfortunately the pond itself was quiet, without a mallard or cormorant to enjoy • We also stopped to purchase a few cans of cat food and a box of litter. Yes, it’s happening again. Grocery store shelves are light and online purchases are on back order. You may have read about worsening supply chain disruptions, and tin and paper container shortages. Looks like many popular US products will be limited or unavailable over the next few months. Recovery isn’t expected until February or March next year • Best to plan accordingly!
