Frosty start

Following a light frost overnight we had a glorious day. Parts of this fishing beat on the River Tweed stayed in the shade all day while other stretches were bathed in bright warm sunshine, so those fishing had to keep adding layers of clothing then discarding them, depending on where they were fishing. Although there had been a little rain last night, it hadn’t been enough to raise the river level so very few fish were seen today and none were caught on this beat. Last chance tomorrow for himself to catch a second salmon but conditions aren’t making it look hopeful.
