Colombia Day 5

Featuring two stunning Shining Sunbeam hummingbirds, just one of the 7 species we saw today.  Not to mention two Antpittas, toucans, tanagers, guan, and brush finch (and I'm sure I've forgotten to mention some.

Today's adventure took us up to 10,000 feet where the temps were very chilly and the air very thin.  We had to walk quite a distance to find out first antpitta species, but it was worth all the huffing and puffing to see this shy little bird of the forest.  Much of the day was spent shooting hummers with time out for a delicious lunch prepared by the staff of the ecolodge we were shooting at.  Another totally delightful day.

I"m putting a Gray breasted Mountain Toucan and a Sparkling Violetear in Extra (if I can get them to load.    Sorry, they won't load.

Delicious hot cocoa today made with milk from the cows at the farm where we were shooting.
