Widwed: Repeating patterns (eg...windows...)

When I saw that today's Wide Wednesday theme was "Repeating patterns...eg windows..." what could I do but blip the three sash windows that we've been renovating since Adam was a lad June (starting here) and which I've been boring you lovely blippers with ever since then.

As you can see the windows are of a repeating pattern - all the same style and size - and the renovation work has followed a repeating pattern too!: tease the sashes away from the multiple layers of paint, strip them, sand them, paint them, strip the frames, remove the sticky goo which someone had previously used in an unsuccessful attempt to repair the crumbling mortar between the frames and the brick/stone, apply new mortar, paint the frames,  replace the sashes with new cord and beading, attach new locks.

(All this partly explains why I've not been as good at commenting recently as I like to be!)

We didn't take full "before" photos but part way through the work my Editor did photograph one of them during the work - I've added that as an extra.

Anyway, yesterday the final sashes were put in place so the job is done (well, except for filling the nail holes in the beading and applying the gloss to the beading - there was no point in doing that before hammering in the nails).

Many thanks to steveng for hosting Widwed again.

(PS Just noticed more repeating patterns - the autumn leaves reflected in the windows!)
