Cultural Experiences

The kids were so quiet this morning while their parents had a well deserved lie-in, quietly opened their door and this is what I saw...

A day of many parts, and as ever on a busy day, it's late, so a quick summary...

Appointment at Specsavers, attended (very professionally) by three kids who looked like they should still be at school, and badly needed new glasses ordered.
Met Mike for a coffee at Beth's.
Walked to Health Centre to ask about asthma inhalers.
Walk in Rectory Park with son, Paul, Felicity and gorgeous Roo, see extra.
Did Day 2 Covid tests and sent off, first time either of us have done one.
Mike, Paul and Sam off on our church's men's weekend.
Into Birmingham on the train with Deb, for a good mooch around Foyle's, a great introduction to Thai food, and to watch "Dune" at the Mailbox. Never read the book, not too sure what I thought of the film... but Birmingham at night was certainly a new cultural experience for me, especially getting soaked in Bourbon by the woman next to me in the cinema, and another woman chatting to me in the restaurant as though we were friends.
And incredibly photogenic, with the almost full moon, the lights on the canal, and all the reflections on Grand Central.

Gratefuls:
- a perfect night out with my daughter, and new books, what riches
- Mike getting to go off with the men, not much chance for anything like that in Mourão
- gorgeous autumn weather, oh to be in England now that autumn is here...
