Full house at book group

One of the impacts of the pandemic and lockdowns is that the members of my book group have fewer work commitments on Monday evenings. This means that all eight of us - including five blippers - were able to meet at Christine's house this evening. Here we all are, gathered round the dinner table.

We discussed Klara and the sun (universal approval) and then worked our way through an amazing feast. On the menu were three pâtés (chicken liver, mushroom, salmon), a light fish curry, and then two orange puddings. Ridgeback13 has blipped the final course of marmalade steam pudding and sunshine cheesecake. Unfortunately the walk to Christine's and back won't have burnt off sufficient calories to account for such a sumptuous meal.

The earlier part of my day was devoted to research assessment tasks. In the late afternoon I also prepared for the arrival of Winsford from Pitlochry and LauraMuir from Glasgow. They are both staying with me and Mr hazelh tonight.

Our next book, to be discussed on 22nd November is Piranesi by Susanna Clarke.

Exercise today: walking (12,617 steps).
