London

Everything went (almost) to plan today, and we were in London by 11.15, after the train from Ware was replaced by a bus, delaying us a bit. But we were not in any hurry and walked along to the Museum of London. We were earlier than our booked slot so had a coffee beforehand, then several hours in the museum. Very interesting, but a lot of people because of the half term holiday. Jon's back was aching and after 2 hours we needed to get moving.

We decided to walk all the way to our hotel room, just past the Albert Hall. It took us past Trafalgar Square, Buckingham Palace and Hyde Park corner and the Albert Hall (top photo of me with Cliff on the screen - closest I'll get to a photo with him!). That's why I prefer to walk, as you don't see anything on the tube. It took us an hour and a half. We stopped for a cup of tea in one of the parks on the way.

I was ready for a bath to soak my aching legs, then Jon walked me back to see Cliff, and left me at the door!

I was right at the back, but had a great view. It was a really good show and I enjoyed it. I have to say I wasn't the youngest, but was close! Many older ladies but also their husbands. I sang along, clapped and swayed along with everyone else, but it was a bit odd going to such a big event on my own.I was amused when about 2 songs before the end, a load of old women surged towards the stage, like a flood gate had been opened.

Jon was waiting to collect me when I came out. I am glad I went, and feel lucky that Jon was there to escort me!

Now back in the hotel room, and hoping gor a good night sleep!
